[Nose Surgery] Concept of Rhinoplasty 1 (Flat nose)

Many people inquire of me about rhinoplasty.
Some patients are concerend with their bulbous nose, some patients have complex with their deviated nose and some patients agonize too small nose.


For these patients, today i'm gonna explain rhinoplasty in detail :-)

Augmentation rhinoplasty is the most commonly used method for raising low noses.
Although focus was placed only on elevating the bridge of nose in the past, recentrly, the surgical procedures for the tip of the nose is carried out concurrently with nasal cosmetic surgery in most cases in order to achieve beautiful and perfect shape of the nose.


In addition, although agmentation the flat brdge of nose is important, natural appearance can be achieved when harmony is attained for the portion from the upper lip to the tip of the nose and the bridge of nose as well as appropriate angle between tha forehead and bridge of nose.


If focus is placed only on elevating the bridge of nose when the forehead is flat, ideal angle will be harmed thereby easily creating impression of being strong and aged.
Therefore, which surgical method is necessary is determined by analyzing the configuration of the forehead, height of bridge of nose, size and configuration of the tip of the nose, characteristics and thickness of skin, quantity of subcutaneous tissues, size and strength of cartilage of tip of the nose and nasolabial angle, etc prior to the surgery.



Exfoliate the periosteum of the nasal bone through closed-type or open-type incision, and establish the sapce for insertion of implant in the bridge of nose.


Safe implant such as silicone, Gore-tex and Sili-tex is used for the bridge of nose.
Produce natural nose by gathering the cargilage of the tip, and boasting the top with ear cartilage, nasal septum cartilage and alloderm, etc.
